Round table

The Round Table appears for the first time in the legend of King Arthur in Wace's Roman de Brut and is a permanent part of the story ever since. Wace says that the reason for the creation of the Round Table is a prevention for quarrels among the knights. The Round Table stood for the equality of the knights including King Arthur himself. It probably origins from the Celtic circle/ring, which stands for equality and an unbreakable bound.
